Coach Trips

The coach trips organised by Carole Morris throughout the year are very popular events and highly anticipated.

Next coach trip..........

SATURDAY 12th MAY 2018

WIMPOLE  ESTATE (National Trust)

We will leave St Andrew’s Church at 9am to travel to The Wimpole Estate arriving about 11am.  The Wimpole Estate is:-

A working estate still guided by the seasons, with an impressive mansion and Home Farm

The mansion, at the heart of this estate, is evidence of Elsie Bambridge's success in creating a home. Intimate rooms contrast with beautiful and unexpected Georgian interiors, including Soane's breathtaking Yellow Drawing Room and wonderful plunge bath.

Stroll around the colourful parterre garden and wander through the Pleasure Grounds to the walled garden, abundant with fruit, vegetables and herbaceous borders. Home Farm contrasts the traditional farmyard with the noisy modern piggery and cattle sheds.

Stride out across the landscape park, among the rare-breed cattle, and imagine the previous owners planning their visions of grand avenues and spectacular vistas.

The Old Rectory Restaurant is a great place to drop in for a cup of tea and cake. Relax on our comfy banquette seating over a leisurely two or three-course lunch.

With a terrace overlooking the garden, it's a great place to rest, relax and plan the rest of your day at Wimpole.

The Farm Café serves a great menu, including our popular sausage rolls. The café is open every day the farm is open, so pop in for a drink and a snack.

The stable serves a selection of light refreshments and ice creams. Take a seat in the courtyard and watch the world go by. Open throughout the summer and on selected days during the winter.”    (Quotes from website in blue)
